For over 38 years, Leon has engaged in the professional practice of both architecture and urban planning. His work has encompassed varied experiences in a number of places including private firms and public agencies in Houston, Texas; Detroit, Michigan; Birmingham, Alabama; St. Paul, Minnesota; and Columbus, Ohio.
As managing principal of HKI, Leon is accountable for the day-to-day business operations, as well as overseeing technical specifications and cost containment strategies for the architectural undertakings of the firm. Leon has become quite adept at balancing budget constraints and available resources with the objectives of respective clients.

Kay is a principal and the lead designer for HKI. He approaches design from a unique perspective. He is an accomplished artist, with academic training in sociology, architecture, landscape architecture and city planning.
